The Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care awarded its 2012 Pioneer Award
at the annual education meeting in Baton Rouge to Ann J. Parker, BS, CRT.
Ann is presently Director of Cardio-Pulmonary Services at Thibodaux Regional
Medical Center. Ann has been an active member of the American Association
for Respiratory Care for over 30 years. She served on the LSRC board of directors and the Advisory Committee for Respiratory Care Licensure for the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners for many years.

The LSRC is excited to announce this year’s winner for the Hospital of the Year for Respiratory Care award for a hospital with greater than 200 beds. Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center has implemented new programs that are aimed at improving care of chronic lung diseases. Both the COPD program and the new Pediatric Asthma program involve respiratory therapists to improve delivery and care of patients with these chronic diseases.

The Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care awarded its first annual Award for Excellence to Anthony (Tony) Simoneaux, AS, RRT at the annual educational meeting in
Baton Rouge. Tony is a staff therapist at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Tony served
his country in active duty in the US Army for six years and received both a silver and
gold honorable discharge. After leaving the military in 1979, he began his career in the
respiratory care profession. Tony is a ten year cancer survivor

The LSRC is excited to announce this year’s winner for the Hospital of the Year for Respiratory Care award for a hospital with less than 200 beds. Chabert Medical Center exemplifies interdisciplinary approach to patient care to improve patient outcomes.  At Chabert, the RT’s are well respected clinicians and are acknowledged by their peers and patients for their contribution to the care and wellbeing of the patients and community.  This can be seen by the retention rate of 95%.
