The Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care awarded its 2012 Pioneer Award
at the annual education meeting in Baton Rouge to Ann J. Parker, BS, CRT.
Ann is presently Director of Cardio-Pulmonary Services at Thibodaux Regional
Medical Center. Ann has been an active member of the American Association
for Respiratory Care for over 30 years. She served on the LSRC board of directors and the Advisory Committee for Respiratory Care Licensure for the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners for many years.

The annual Business meeting of the Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care Board of Directors and its membership, will be held on January 25, 2013 at 11:00am.  The installation of the 2013 officers will occur at this meeting as well.  The meeting will be held at Prejean's Restaurant in Lafayette, LA.

The Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care awarded its first annual Award for Excellence to Anthony (Tony) Simoneaux, AS, RRT at the annual educational meeting in
Baton Rouge. Tony is a staff therapist at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Tony served
his country in active duty in the US Army for six years and received both a silver and
gold honorable discharge. After leaving the military in 1979, he began his career in the
respiratory care profession. Tony is a ten year cancer survivor
