ATTENTION all Louisiana Respiratory Therapists:

The new practice rules were published in this month’s state register. You may find them in it’s entirety at the following link http://www.doa.louisiana.gov/osr/reg/regs2012.htm. I wanted to call your attention to the Continuing Education Section. Please be advised, these laws went into effect January 20th, and all PALS, ACLS and NRP courses will be given 5 contact hours instead of 10. The LSRC Board of Directors will be working diligently to accommodate these changes and offer as many CEU opportunities as possible. Also, as an AARC member, you may go to the website and earn CEUs at no charge. If you have questions, you may contact any BOD member…contact information may be found on the LSRC website at www.lsrc.net.

LSRC’s new President Sworn In

LSRC’s new President, Shantelle Graves, is sworn in by Parliamentarian, Jim Lanoha at the LSRC board of director’s meeting January 6, 2012. Graves has set the pace for the 2012 year, and “Raising the Bar” is the motto. Goals set by Graves include increasing AARC membership by 5%, offering manager support though leadership workshops and more, and lastly, assist chapters effectively to develop growth and networking within the LSRC membership.
