Responsible for implementing hospital and/or department goals within the area supervised. Accountable clinical, fiscal and service quality outcomes for financial performance within the overall guidelines set by the Department Director. Provides direct supervision, coaching, and mentoring to professional personnel of the inpatient units of the hospital. Supports the professional practice model, standards of clinical practice and the legal and industry standards related to the Department Performs other duties as assigned.
I. (Minimum qualifications for the position)
A. Certification/Registration: Current Louisiana RRT licensure and BLS. ACLS, PALS, NRP certification preferred.
B. Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
C. Experience: Clinical Respiratory Care at least five years with three to five years of escalating leadership.
D. Special qualifications: Business, finance management experience helpful. Major focus on accountability in all areas. Member in good standing of the AARC and LSRC strongly recommended. Must be able to effectively lead and mentor staff, must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, a strong commitment to the profession. Committed to outstanding employee engagement and consequent customer service. Committed to and adept at goal oriented outcomes. Familiarity with current Quality measures such as HCAHPS required with commitment to ongoing Quality Improvement. Must be able to demonstrate fiscal responsibility in developing and managing budgets and productivity. Must be able to successfully complete established competencies for the position within designated probationary period. Leadership cross-coverage to Pulmonary, ABG Lab and Sleep required
E. Hours of work: As required. Floating to nights and weekends required. Visibility at Downtown and Lakeside campuses required.
